The molo Audace dock is on the seafront of Trieste, in the middle of the city, near Piazza Unità and the Grand Canal. It juts into the sea for 246 meters, and it’s the ideal place to enjoy the breeze and the movement of the waves while at the same time admiring the city and the horizon. It’s a lovely spot to admire romantic sunsets and recommended for lovers of photography.
You can’t come to Trieste and not visit Miramare. The white castle in Istrian stone, jutting into the sea on the rocky promontory of Grignano on the Gulf of Trieste, is in a wonderful spot about 7km from the city centre.
You can reach it by car, bus (n. 6), some local trains (Miramare station). In summer, it’s possible to get to the castle via Delfino Verde boat.
The promenade of Barcola, more than 4km long, is particularly dear to those who live in Trieste. You can have long walks, jog, bike or skate while enjoying the most beautiful sight on the Gulf of Trieste and Miramare Castle.
You can reach it by car, bus (n.6) and, in summer, via Delfino Verde boat.
From the San Giusto hill you can have a 360° view of the city. If you want an even more breathtaking view, go up the cathedral’s bell tower.
The cathedral is a 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel, but you can reach it also by car or bus (n.24). If you park your car at the Park San Giusto multi-storey car park (with our special discounts) you will be able to access the internal lift to the top of the hill.
Majestic and elegant, the Victory Lighthouse stands out over the unique landscape of the Gulf of Trieste.
You can reach it by car or bus (n. 42, 44 or 46).

The Temple of Monte Grisa, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is located at an altitude of 330 metres and can easily be seen from every place in the city. The view from the Temple’s courtyard encompasses the whole Gulf, reaching Slovenia and Istria. The shrine has a majestic structure in reinforced concrete and is located in a wonderful position. You can reach it by car or bus (n.42, 44 or 46).
Contovello is a traditional little village with stone houses, clung onto the karstic cliff over Miramare Castle. You can reach it by walking along the curvy Strada del Friuli, from which you’ll see many beautiful views of the Gulf of Trieste. However, the most wonderful view is the one offered at the sharp turn just before the village. We also suggest to take a look at the houses and alleys of the village itself.
You can reach it by car or bus (n.42, 44, 46).
If you want to enjoy Trieste from above while travelling in time you absolutely have to take the tram to Opicina:close your eyes and you’ll feel like you’re living at the beginning of the past century… but you’ll have to hope that the tram does work! Along the road you’ll have a beautiful view on the city: at the end of the route you’ll find the Obelisk, the panoramic point par excellence, at an altitude of 350 metres. Here starts the poetic promenade on the Napoleonic Road.
