Biking enthusiasts can leave their bicycles to us. If you don’t have one, our staff will provide you with all the necessary information to rent one.
Here are some different kind of cycling routes (some more difficult than others) that will lead you into the wonderful landscapes of Trieste.
In the city centre you can bike along the coastal promenade, that stretches from viale Miramare and the Train Station to the Campi Elisi neighbourhood.
In summer you can take your bike on the Delfino Verde boat and reach the city of Grado, known as the Island of the Sun.
If you take your bike with you on the tram you will reach Opicina, on the karstic plateau. Here starts a 6km long route to Trebiciano, a real journey along the Karst.

From the city centre you can reach the Cottur cycle-pedestrian lane. It follows part of the old railway that from 1887 to 1959 used to connect the Trieste Campo Marzio train station to the Erpelle station on the Istrian railway route Pula-Divača . The modern itinerary, built upon the original path, starts in the San Giacomo district and goes up towards the Natural Reserve of the Rosandra Valley, until the border with Slovenia in Draga Sant’Elia.
From Trieste you can reach the famous Parenzana, connected to the Cottur cycle-pedestrian lane by a path that goes through via Flavia (the road is open to motor vehicles, so it’s recommended only for expert bikers). Less expert bikers can reach Muggia with the Delfino Verde boat.
Trieste is part of the Alto Adriatico cycling route. It is 1000 km long and connects the Alps and the Slovenian lakes with the shores and lagoons of the Adriatic Sea.
